The digitalisation of David is underway, the first stage of an extraordinary project that combines historical memory with a present of innovation for the most accurate and sophisticated reproduction of Michelangelo’s masterpiece ever. The physical model of the statue, kept at the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence, will be the culminating moment in the exhibition itinerary of the Italian Pavillion at the Expo in Dubai as of 1 October 2021.
To follow the project live, the site of the Commissariat for the participation of Italy in the next Universal Exposition is enriched with a new section.
This dedicated space will contain the latest news, insights, articles, specials and services that the national and international media have dedicated and will dedicate to the project which, since its announcement at the beginning of October, has aroused great interest worldwide.
The initiative, which relaunches the beauty of Italy and its cities of art, also foresees, in the coming months, the creation of the "making of" of the reproduction itself, in order to offer visitors - and as a legacy of Expo 2020 Dubai - the representation of the multidisciplinary skills involved in the complex operation.
