The spotlight shifts from space to the future of our Planet. With the big digital event on “Climate and Biodiversity” set to take place from Monday 19 October onwards, the attention of the organisers and the Countries taking part in the upcoming Universal Exhibition will focus on an analysis of climate change and the protection of biodiversity.

Following the “Space Week” in early October, we are now in the second Pre-Expo Dubai 2020 week which gives us a preview, one year ahead, of the main themes for the initiatives due to take place inside more than 190 national and theme-based Pavilions over the six-month period. And Italy leads the field again.

On 21 October, Italy will be taking part in the initiative with a space packed with original contents about sustainability which looks at the international cooperation to protect the coral reef in the Maldives, the observation and analysis of climate changes thanks to an innovative Italian-made satellite system, the challenges that these changes pose for the agrifood sector in Italy and all the Countries bordering the Mediterranean and scientific research into how to protect trees and forests all over the world.
Of those addressing the meeting, there will be Paolo Galli, tenured professor of Ecology at the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Milan-Bicocca and Director of the MaRHE Center, Giorgio Saccoccia, President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), Giovanni Giuseppe Vendramin, Director for the Institute of Biosciences and Bio-resources of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and Angelo Riccaboni, President of the PRIMA Foundation.
