Life sciences: the Italian model of innovation and research at Expo 2020 Dubai

Health, well-being and safety will form the basis of Italy’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai. The topic will be debated during the three days (1st–3rd October) of events celebrating “One Year to Go”, at the MIND (Milano Innovation District), during the meeting organised by the Commissioner’s Office for Italy’s participation in the forthcoming Universal Exhibition, with the ALISEI National Cluster and the collaboration of the Fondazione Human Technopole foundation, at the presence of important Italian and international guests.

The integration between molecular biology, biotechnologies and digital applications constitutes the technological framework that is set to radically change our society over the next few years. And Expo 2020 Dubai, which will open its doors on 1st October 2021, marks an important opportunity for Italian companies of the sector to promote international scientific cooperation, and relaunch economic and financial relations with the markets of the MENASA (Middle East, North Africa, South Asia) region.

In view of the international debate that will open up in Dubai on these crucial issues, Italy intends bringing and sharing, with the 190 participating countries, a model of collaboration between science and healthcare, health and the environment, well-being and nutrition, which was further strengthened and consolidated during the pandemic, making Italy an international best practice.

Italy represents a pulsating hub of this revolution thanks to a network of public and private facilities scattered throughout the country, in addition to a research ecosystem that includes the great post-Expo project MIND and the Human Technopole, a legacy of the Milan 2015 Expo, which will be an important driver also during Dubai 2020 for the entire life science and innovation system.
