The capital city of Liguria houses the headquarters of one of the technical partner companies of the Commissioner's Office for Italy’s participation: il Gruppo Boero, which will colour the hulls forming the roof of the pavilion, which, in turn, will form the largest ever tricolour in Italy’s history.
The special testimonial for the event will be the sailor Giovanni Soldini, who will promote the launching of the #ilmiotricolore initiative, which will allow each user to participate by publishing their own special tricolour on instagram: the contributions, grouped in a dedicated page, will then be displayed as a single work inside the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, during one of the events featuring the Boero Group.
The Genoa event, which is part of the “One Year To Go” initiative promoted throughout Italy between 1st and 3rd October, will see the participation of Marcello Fondi, the Assistant Commissioner General for Italy's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, Andreina Boero, President of the Boero Group, Italo Rota, Co-designer of the Italy Pavilion, Michele Viviani, Associate Professor and President of the “Centro del Mare” University Strategic Centre at the University of Genoa.
