Expo Dubai will be a global platform for debating on a sustainable world, with architecture and engineering taking centre stage at the service of safety, health and improved lifestyles. This common thread runs through the entire Italy Pavilion designed by Carlo Ratti and Italo Rota for representing Italy at the first Universal Exhibition to be held in an Arab country.
Creativity, research and innovation are the key words of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Italian Commissioner’s Office for Expo Dubai and the Polytechnic University of Milan, aimed at bringing to Dubai the new generation of architects, the future of expertise, the merging of digital applications and sustainability,” explains Professor Ingrid Paoletti.
A by-product of this collaboration is the degree thesis project by Simona Bertuccio and Anali Salarzadeh, two female students completing a degree in Civil Engineering-Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan. It is the first degree thesis dedicated to the Italy Pavilion at Expo Dubai.
