From Dubai a new programme to support startups around the globe: the project was launched by District 2020, the body that supervises the construction of the Expo Dubai site and that will manage its use after 31st March 2022, when the Universal Exhibition will come to a close.
Thanks to partnerships with Dubai SME and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund, selected companies will be granted specific funds, consulting and the necessary assistance, and will be put into contact with large companies – all key elements for preparing them for participating in Scale2Dubai, the District 2020 global programme offering high-potential startups and small-sized companies that have been successful in their home countries the possibility of expanding business in Dubai.
The manifestations of interest for the programme can be submitted through the District 2020 website: www.district2020.ae.
Scale2Dubai was launched in February 2020 and is based on the goal, shared with Expo 2020 Dubai, of sustaining small- and medium-sized companies and the startup sector, which is a real driver of the economy of the United Arab Emirates.
Similarly to other past initiatives, the new programme is part of the District 2020 mission of stimulating durable economic benefits and growth in this sector in the United Arab Emirates. Once Expo 2020 ends, the District 2020 programme will cover the nine-month transition period for requalifying over 80% of the facilities constructed for the Universal Exhibition, by transforming the entire area into a sustainable district.
