A joint effort to find a vaccine against coronavirus and allow the world to overcome the pandemic. This is the critical role that research and life sciences are playing in the difficult current scenario.
A pivotal role that Diana Bracco – President of the ALISEI-Life Sciences National Cluster and past President of Expo Milano 2015 S.p.A. and General Commissioner for the Italy Pavilion – envisions also for the changed post-virus context, starting from Expo Dubai: “Dubai will become a global gathering place where we can all debate about the major challenges of the present time and the future, enabling us to draw the best out of ourselves. We Italians would like to place the research theme at the centre of this gathering place, with special emphasis on the importance of life sciences. The message we intend launching is that we should never stop investing in research and that we need unity of intent”.
A unity of intent for which the ALISEI-Life Sciences National Cluster is a mouthpiece: “In the face of a global pandemic, only the union of knowledges and the national and international efforts can yield tangible results in good time with an approach that transcends national boundaries” – declared Diana Bracco. For this reason, we proposed the institution of a European mission aimed at creating an extensive public-private consortium that can work towards a fundamental common goal: finding a vaccine against coronavirus”.
