For the World Earth Day, currently in its fiftieth edition, the Commissioner for the UNO’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, Maher Nasser, sent a message to Italy to underline the importance of the challenges linked to sustainable development, made even more evident by the global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic: these issues – he explained – will be at the centre of the United Nation’s presence at the Universal Exhibition.
The fight against climate change – the specific focus of this year’s edition of the World Earth Day – is perhaps the greatest challenge for mankind’s future and for our relationship with the environment surrounding us.
A challenge accepted also by Expo Dubai, in the thematic area dedicated to ‘Sustainability’, which will tackle the complex relationship between man and nature and will propose innovative solutions for reducing the impact of our actions on the environment.
These themes will also play a pivotal part in the Italy Pavilion project. There will be numerous events, workshops and initiatives supported by the contributions of partners and sponsors.
