The road tests for the new self-driving vehicles which will help people get around within the Expo 2020 Dubai site have officially begun and will last for the next three months. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started the experimentation on a “dedicated” route connecting the Universal Exhibition’s main entrance to the personnel offices, while guaranteeing the utmost passenger safety.
This is one of the steps that the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority is taking in order to transform 25% of all movements within the Emirati city to “self-driving” solutions by 2030.
Moreover, the initiative blends in fully with the themes of Expo 2020 – Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability – and aims to stress the importance of green economy and sustainable mobility.
