The sustainable development targets at the core of the United Nations 2030 Agenda will be the focus of an international event to be staged at the Italy Pavilion during Expo 2020. The topics to be debated will include sustainability, climate change, education and human rights.
This decision was reached during a meeting held in Dubai between the Italian Commissioner for the Universal Exhibition, Paolo Glisenti, and the UN Commissioner-General, Maher Nasser.
The events, to be held at the Italy Pavilion, will also be attended by high-ranking officials of the UNO, according to talks between the two commissioners on the sidelines of a meeting between representatives of the countries participating in the Universal Exhibition in Dubai.
In another meeting with EU countries, Italy proposed holding events to promote the agenda of the European Commission on sustainability and green economy.
