ANICA, the Italian Association of Film, Audiovisual and Multimedia Industries under the auspices of Confindustria, and Videocittà, Rome’s “Festival della Visione”, will bring Italian audiovisual, digital and film to EXPO 2020 in Dubai to promote their production and employment sector.
The skills of the young and the not so young in the country’s key cultural areas will gain a valuable showcase on the global stage, courtesy of the spaces and exclusive events of the Italian Pavilion.
The programme will not be limited to the six months of the Expo period beginning on 20 October 2020, but will include a series of run-up initiatives featuring rewards and challenges, due to begin now, said Italy’s Commissioner General for Expo Paolo Glisenti.
“The distinctly young individuals and entities who emerge as winners from our competitions and tenders will go to Dubai. With Dubai EXPO 2020 we will prepare a series of actions during the year prior to this global event,” announced President of ANICA Francesco Rutelli, who was in Rome to present the 2019 edition of Videocittà, which begins on 20 September and will continue for three months.
