The Sustainable Development Festival, dedicated to environmental, economic and social sustainability, will be held from 21st May to 6th June. Hundreds of events are scheduled throughout the national territory. They will involve civil society, the institutions, citizens and companies, inviting all subjects involved to ‘step up a gear towards sustainable development that does not leave anyone behind’.
The initiatives – organised by over 200 members of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS), associates, members of the Italian University Network for Sustainable Development (RUS) and many other subjects active in Italy – are aimed at diffusing a culture of sustainable development, encourage the debate, stimulate new ideas and solutions and their sharing.
Numerous institutional and non-institutional partners chose to adhere to the initiative, which is part of the broader context of the main themes of Expo 2020 Dubai:
OPPORTUNITY – freeing the potential of individuals and communities to create a better future, MOBILITY – innovative logistics, transport and communication systems for people, goods and ideas, SUSTAINABILITY – accessibility and resilience of environmental, energy and water resources. This latter theme lies at the core of Italy’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai with the involvement of universities, research bodies, institutions, communities and businesses.
