On 18th and 19th May, Artathon, the interdisciplinary and creative design marathon, was held the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona, in the context of art+b=love(?), the first Italian festival dedicated to the innovative power of art.
With regard to the format, derived from the more renowned hackathon, the event was an interdisciplinary marathon between heterogeneous teams made up, specifically for the festival, of culture professionals coming from the Adriatic-Ionian region, artists, directors and technicians. The event was held in the context of a show open to the public, in which technical and scientific skills combine with artistic and humanistic skills to find creative solutions to aid the Marches Region’s participation at Expo 2020 Dubai accompanied by the theme, “Connecting minds, creating the future”.
The event was linked to the project for the Italy Pavilion accompanied by the claim, “Beauty connects people”, where the word “beauty” does not have a purely aesthetic connotation, but refers to creativity, namely the ability to innovate by harmoniously merging knowledge and expertise, cultures and lifestyles, with the aim of improving sustainability, health and security. For the Marches, it was an opportunity to showcase a collaborative entrepreneurship model stemming from the sharing of innovative ideas, projects, skills and applications that generate economic, social, scientific and cultural value.
The initiative, the artistic directors and curators of which are Cesare Biasini Selvaggi and Federico Bomba, was planned and organised by Sineglossa with the contribution of the Marches Regional Authority and of the Municipality of Ancona, besides an extensive network of public and private partners.
